Below are some pictures depicting the installation of a 24″ ball valve, as well as electrical upgrades. Below are pictures showing some of the installation work and tight working spaces. Work had to be coordinated closely with BART to prevent shutting down any active BART systems. ]]> BCI was recently awarded the BART 19th Station Entrance Enclosure Project. The goal of this pilot project is to create a context sensitive entrance that enhance users’ comfort and safety while improving station security. The station enclosure involves features such as stainless steel wire mesh, accent lighting, real time displays, a coiling door, and a sidewalk glass system. Work also includes a new station identification pylon and kiosk. Work is expected to be completed by December 2014.

This project consists of demolition of an existing standby generator building, construction of a new pile-supported standby generator building, installation of a new 2000KW standby engine generator and switchgear, and replacement of an aging busduct system with a new 2500A rated cable bus system. Work is expected to be complete in 2014.

]]> On January 15th, SFMTA Board of Directors approved a recommendation to award the MUNI Integrated Systems Replacement Project to BCI. The scope of this project includes  replacing and installing the Subway Public Address/Platform Display System (PA/PDS), the Subway Facility SCADA system, the Motive Power SCADA System, installing a new Subway Fiber Broadband Network (FBN) System, new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems, and upgraded HVAC systems. This project is expected to be complete by August of 2014.

]]> BCI was recently awarded the Soulajule Pump Station Diesel Engine Replacement Project for Marin Municipal Water District. This contract includes removal of two 930 BHP diesel engines and provision of two new 800 HP electrical motors connecting to existing centrifugal water pumps; modification of two existing centrifugal water pumps, exhaust systems, (2) 480V motor control centers, generator tap box, fuel piping modifications, and an 800kw rental generator for functional testing. Work is expected to be completed by summer of 2013.
